????Wuzhou, June 15 (Wuzhou Full Contact)—According to the statistics of Wuzhou Municipal Government, an extraordinary rainstorm hit some towns of Cangwu County and Mengshan County, Wuzhou on the early morning of June 15th, 2010, and the evoked torrential flood and landslide caused the collapse of houses, 3 dead, 5 injured, and 17 missing.

????There are 8 towns in all of Cangwu County were affected by this disaster, inducing 99 geographical disaster points and 146 collapsed houses. 34 people were rescued, 672 cautioned to avoid further dangers, 29127 safely transferred. Most casualties were from Shuangshang Village, Shatou Town, including 2 dead, 4 injured, and 13 missing. 4 people from 2 families were missing due to the landslide caused by the rainstorm in Yangshuang Station of Bainan Forestry Center, Shiqiao Town, Cangwu County. And a sudden landslide buried 2 people in Hanhao Town, Mengshan County, resulting in 1 dead and 1 injured after the rescue.

????After the occurrence of the disaster, Liu Zhiyong, Secretary of Wuzhou Municipal Party Committee, and Wang Kai, Mayor of Wuzhou City, immediately led the work group consisting of the leaders from Cangwu County Party Committee, Cangwu County Government and other relative departments to the scene to launch the emergency rescue. Armies stationed in Wuzhou, such as military fire service, armed police, and engineering regiment of army reserve troop, have also rushed to the accident scenes to carry out the search for the missing ones and the rescue of the injured.

????The rescue and the search are still on at this moment. Two work groups were sent out by the Municipal Party Committee and Government respectively to learn further details about the damage caused by the disaster in Mengshan County and Dali Town of Teng County, and organize the rescue and relief work accordingly.
